In August 2012, the Windham Town Council passed a resolution creating an ad hoc committee to explore a sister city relationship between Windham and a compatible city outside the U.S.
The members of the committee believe sister city relationships can offer many benefits to individuals and to the town, including opportunities for travel, economic development, and exchanges between businesses, schools, arts organizations, churches, and other groups. But an effort like this depends on community support.
